Willingness

Today, I looked around me here on the land, surrounded by ancient hills and forests where thousands of trees have stood for centuries. It's autumn. Change is in the air; the light is softening, and the summer birds have moved on. The land carries a calm presence that is hard to ignore. If you’re willing to tune in, of course.

Willing to step away from the daily momentum: a momentum dominated by a relentless pace, the pressure of expectations, and the demands of keeping up.

And all the while, something sits patiently just under the surface of our busyness. It is always present, always open, always ready to reveal itself. If you’re willing.

Stepping away or disconnecting, even for a moment, can feel like an impossible ask. Can feel like a waste of time. Yet, what if in that moment, something inside you shifts, and changes your momentum? Something is revealed, just because you were quiet enough to hear it.

It doesn’t take much, but it does take willingness.

I had to learn it myself. Slowly, and not without resistance.
